Christian Education

Christian Education at St. Andrew

Christian education is a lifelong journey. It begins with our Baptism and continues throughout our lives. It includes the study of scripture and involves discussion and interactions with other people of faith.

St. Andrew provides a variety of opportunities for Christian Education, including: Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Confirmation instruction and service, Youth Ministry and Adult Bible Study.

Sunday School

The Sunday School program is available for everyone ages two through adults. It’s held on Sundays, 10:45 to 11:45, from Labor Day to Memorial Day.

Vacation Bible School

One week each summer, St Andrew invites children, age 3 through 5th grade, to gather from Sunday through Thursday evenings for learning, crafts, food, fun and friendship. The program is devoted to learning about God’s love for us and the sharing of His love with others.

Confirmation

At St. Andrew, Catechesis begins for children in the second grade. The children are instructed in receiving the sacrament and its meaning in their lives.

Confirmation begins when young adults enter the seventh grade. It involves two years of instruction and includes service to the congregation and the community. After two years of instruction, the Rite of Confirmation is administered during worship service on All Saints’ Sunday.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry program at St. Andrew focuses on Junior and Senior High-aged youth. Activities have included: retreats, service to those in need within the community, game nights, movie nights, sporting events, youth worship and holiday-themed activities. Our youth program has also been involved in larger group gatherings on both regional and national levels.

Adult Bible Study

Currently St. Andrew offers three opportunities for adult learning.

  • Fridays at 10 am. A women’s Bible Study group discusses biblical themes important to women of faith today.
