Our Pastor

Larry F. Mort – Pastor

Pastor Mort is serving his fourteenth year as the Pastor of St. Andrew. Installed in September of 2003, he has been instrumental in creating a number of major initiatives for the church. In the wake of the devastation created by Hurricane Katrina, he has, for the past several years, led groups of congregation members to the New Orleans area to help with rebuilding projects. He served as an Interim Pastor for both Grace Lutheran and Resurrection Lutheran churches when those churches were in need of pastoral support. Pastor Mort was instrumental in starting the popular and growing Saturday evening church services at St. Andrew. Over the years, he has led groups of parishioners to visit the Holy Land to see where Jesus walked. He has guided many efforts to help needy families and individuals in the community by supplying lodging, transportation, food and clothing, as well as other types of physical and financial support.

William Hower – Pastor Emeritus

William Hower was installed as the Pastor of St. Andrew in May 1983 and he served as our pastor for nearly 20 years. During his tenure, the church’s contemporary music service was started, a Fellowship Hall was constructed and the church proper was expanded to increase seating capacity. The Picnic Pavilion project was begun under Pastor Hower’s leadership and the church’s involvement in the Neville Ark Food Bank was significantly increased. In May 2008, St. Andrew honored Pastor Hower with the title, Pastor Emeritus. At that time, the Fellowship Hall was renamed Hower Hall in recognition of his leadership and contributions.
